By the beginning of year 2, students should be able to read all common graphemes. They should be able to read unfamiliar words containing these graphemes, accurately and without undue hesitation, by sounding them out in books that are matched closely to each pupil’s level of word reading knowledge. They should also be able to read many common words without needing to blend the sounds out loud first

What teaching method is used to teach English to 7-year-olds?
Story Telling, Reading and Writing
Students also learn to retell familiar stories and come up with alternative endings. While working on their accurate and speedy word reading skills, they are exposed to a wide range of stories, poems, plays and information books. The sooner that children can read well and do so frequently, the sooner they will be able to increase their vocabulary, comprehension and their knowledge across the wider curriculum.
In writing, students at the beginning of year 2 should be able to compose individual sentences orally and then write them down. They should be able to spell correctly many of the words covered in year 1. They should also be able to make phonically plausible attempts to spell words they have not yet learnt. It is important to recognise that pupils begin to meet extra challenges in terms of spelling during year 2. Increasingly, they will realise that there is not always an obvious connection between the way a word is said and the way it is spelt. Variations include different ways of spelling the same sound, the use of so-called silent letters and groups of letters in some. Pupils’ motor skills also need to be sufficiently advanced for them to write down ideas that they may be able to compose orally. In addition, writing is intrinsically harder than reading: pupils are likely to be able to read and understand more complex writing (in terms of its vocabulary and structure) than they are capable of producing themselves.

Cours 2022 - it was a fantastic year for our daughter
She was not in the right group level at the beginning of the year, but the school changed her class rapidly.
She has learnt so much! I’m just impressed by what her teacher has done with the children.
Every week was fun with a lot of projects, songs… Hélène gave so much to them. It was just fabulous to ear every week: “Mum, Wednesday is my favorite day of the week”.
Merci
Je recommande à 100%, les professeurs, la méthode. Ils ont su insuffler une véritable passion pour l’Anglais à notre fille de 6 ans. C’est juste impressionnant de voir ce qu’elle a été capable d’apprendre en 1 an au travers de jeux, de chansons d’exercices, de travaux pratiques. Bravo

Les cours Play and Discover - English school is fun
A big THANK YOU for the welcome and E’s first playgroup class today!
She doesn’t normally tell us about her school days, but after this morning she said « English school is fun! » and was confidently talking about the weather and her numbers and colours… We are so grateful for your skills and energy…

Play & Learn et Fun Camps Winter 2023 - love this school
I love this school. My son is attending the playtime every Wednesday, it is a group of max 10 children.
The teacher prepares loads of different activities and she shares them in Google Drive, so the parents are informed and they can also reproduce the same songs they played at school when they are at home.
My son also attends weekly camps each season, full of different activities indoor and outdoor.
