What is the teaching methodology used to teach English to children aged 12 and above?
In reading, students are expected to engage with a broad range of texts, including those with deeper thematic and cultural contexts. By reading with greater depth and analytical insight, students build the foundation for advanced writing skills.
Writing becomes more sophisticated in Key Stage 3.3, with students regularly producing extended pieces for a range of audiences and purposes. The focus shifts towards structuring arguments, developing clear thesis statements, and supporting ideas with evidence and detailed analysis. Students will also focus on refining their use of language to create nuanced, compelling narratives, essays, and reports.
